As I begin my journey into self employment, one of my key priorities was to produce some personal branding that reflects who I am and my approach to design challenges.
I love geometric shapes, one of my favourites being the hexagon. I knew I needed to make use of this shape somehow. I began with uniform hexagons and how it could be used to produce letterforms. This created a really nice flat look but it felt like it was lacking a little something.
Thinking about my history developing video games gave me the idea to explore isometric grids which helped to give the logo a pseudo three dimensional look which adds more depth to the final logo.
The letterforms for my initials (JS) really took shape in this new grid, using the ascender of the ‘J’ to form the spine of the ‘S’.
